EXPLORING MEANING IN PAINTINGS
* MONDAYS 1 - 4 PM
* SEPT 28 - DEC 7 (NO CLASS OCT 12) (10 WEEKS)
* LEVEL I
Visual Art as a language can be understood by examining the different techniques in a painting that are used to express meaning. Through an exploration of famous painters and a study of how they use colour as an essential language in their art, students will develop an understanding of how to enhance their own works. Weekly assignments will help students practice the techniques to explore this language following examples of past painters.
Drawing with Ink, Pen and Brush
* WEDNESDAYS 9 AM - 12 PM
* SEPT 30 - DEC 2 (10 WEEKS)
* LEVEL B/I
Drawing in Ink can be freeing and also exacting. Many of the usual drawing techniques are used. Ink can be more painterly than other drawing mediums. In this course we will explore a few techniques on papers that can accept water - this includes heavy drawing paper, watercolour, printing paper and non-traditional papers such as mylar or mineral.
